Contacted to respond to Gap Newport Pike and Dairy Meeting Road for a tractor trailer loaded with chickens that was off the roadway and a Ford dump truck with trailer and three mowers that all needed to be towed after an accident.

Based upon the information we were given, we dispatched two of our heavy duty sliding rotator recovery units, a heavy wrecker, two rollbacks, a tractor to repower the trailer, and Null’s Recovery & Site Restoration for spill clean up and traffic control.

Upon arrival, it was found that the dump truck pulling a landscape trailer with three mowers on it had entered the path of the tractor trailer causing the collision. After the collision, the tractor trailer went off the roadway. The landscape trailer was blocking the roadway, two of the mowers came off of the trailer, one of them was overturned and leaking gas.

Our team along with NR&SR worked to establish a recovery plan and a traffic control plan. NR&SR was requested to set-up the traffic plan so that our team could clear the roadway. NR&SR also worked to clean up the spill from the tractor trailer and the mowers.

The two rollbacks worked together to load

One of the rotators was moved into position to lift the front the tractor and steer it back to the roadway. The front bumper was in under the truck still partially attached, NR&SR cut the bumper the remainder of the way off of the truck. The front of the truck was lifted and brought back to the roadway. The heavy wrecker hooked to the front of the tractor while the rotator held it. The unit was then pulled out onto the roadway. Once on the roadway, the truck and trailer were separated. Our tractor hooked to the trailer.

The heavy wrecker prepared to tow the tractor from the scene.

The damaged tractor and trailer were transported from the scene to Null’s of Cochranville. The company had a replacement tractor respond to our location to repower the load of live chickens. The damaged tractor was placed in our secure storage yard.
