Contacted to respond to the Route 30 bypass in the area of Airport Road for an overturned dump truck. Based upon the limited information that was available, a recovery supervisor and two of our heavy duty sliding rotator recovery units were dispatched to the scene. We also contacted Null’s Recovery & Site Restoration to respond to the scene with one of their incident response units and their attenuator truck for scene safety.

While enroute, photos were sent from the scene indicating a smaller single axle dump truck that was loaded with stone that had overturned and was up the embankment off the roadway. The dump truck was hauling stone, which was dumped onto the roadway, shoulder, and embankment. At this point, one of the rotators was cancelled. A skid steer was dispatched to assist with the clean-up along with NR&SR’s roll-off truck to load the stone into. A medium duty rollback was also dispatched to haul the truck from the scene.

Upon arrival, the rotator set-up on a work platform and rigged to upright the truck. Once the truck was uprighted, the rotator lifted it off of the embankment and set it directly onto the rollback. The dump truck was secured for transport. The rigging was removed and returned to it’s respective location. The rotator was returned to travel position. We then assisted NR&SR with cleaning up the spilled stone from the roadway.

The dump truck was transported from the accident scene to Null’s of Cochranville where it was placed in our secure storage yard.
