Contacted to respond to Route 340 and Clearview Road in Leacock Township for an overturned loaded tri-axle dump truck.  We were advised that the truck had been hauling a
load of stone that had been spilled.  Based upon the information we were given, we immediately dispatched two of our heavy duty sliding rotator recovery units, our skid steer
loader, our road sweeper, and contacted Null’s Recovery & Site Restoration to assist with the clean-up.

Upon arrival, a Ford dump truck was found to have been travelling east on Route 340 when it left the roadway, struck a culvert, went across a driveway, through a yard, and
struck a utility pole.  The truck’s front axle was pushed back under the cab and body.  The truck had major damage.  There was fuel leaking from the truck.  Part of the load of
stone had spilled with the remainder still in the truck.  The truck was partially overturned, and being held up by the severely damaged utility pole.

The communications and electric company was onscene and advised that the truck had to be removed from the scene prior to the utility pole being able to be stabilized and
replaced.

NR&SR worked to contain the fuel leak and clean up the spilled cargo.

The two rotators worked together to cautiously lift the truck away from the pole preventing it from snapping and allowing the wires to fall over into the roadway.

The truck was lifted back to an upright position, moved away from the pole and then set onto the Landoll trailer to be removed from the scene.  One of the rotators lifted the
truck’s front axle and set it onto the Landoll trailer.  The truck’s fuel tank and tool box were loaded onto the Landoll.  Once the truck was moved away from the pole, repairs could
then begin to the utility pole.

We assisted NR&SR with cleaning up the truck parts and cargo from the scene.  Extreme care had to be taken while working around the damaged pole.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE INTERCOURSE FIRE COMPANY FOR THEIR HELP WITH TRAFFIC CONTROL AND SCENE
SAFETY!  AS ALWAYS, IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
