Contacted to respond to Long Rifle Road and Gypsy Hill Road in Lancaster for a loaded tractor and trailer that had
struck a bridge and had the axles hanging off the bridge.  We were advised that the trailer was loaded with pallets and
that it was believed to be drivable once it was off of the bridge abutment.

Truck R5 was dispatched to the scene.

While enroute, photos from the scene were received and it was found that there was damage to the trailer which would
need to be repaired and that the guard rail leading up to the bridge was entangled in the trailer.  At that point, we
contacted Null's Recovery & Site Restoration to respond with their service truck and Incident Response Unit.

Upon arrival, a 48' van trailer loaded with pallets being pulled by a Volvo tractor was found to have been travelling north
on Gypsy Hill Road from Route 222 when it attempted to go across the bridge carrying Gypsy Hill Road across the Big
Spring Run.  The trailer was not succesful in crossing the bridge.  The trailer's tandems struck the guard rail, the axles
went over top of the abutment leaving the right side duals hanging over the Big Spring Run.

Truck R5 was set up and rigging connected to the trailer so that it could be lifted clear of the guard rail and abutment.

Once lifted, the trailer was set back onto the roadway.  The rigging was removed, inspected, and returned to its
respective location.

The unit was then moved to a nearby side street so that the roadway could be reopened while repairs were made.

Cones were put in place of the damaged guard rail to warn passing motorists of the danger.

The damaged wheel and tire were removed.  Temporary repairs were made to the trailer so that it could be driven from
the scene.
