Contacted by the Pennsylvania State Police Avondale Barracks requesting us to respond to Route 41 and Derry
Meeting Road in Londonderry Township for a serious commercial motor vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer and a
SUV.  One of our recovery supervisors was onscene and requested that a heavy duty wrecker, truck tractor to repower
the trailer, a rollback, and Null’s Recovery & Site Restoration be dispatched to the scene.

An SUV was travelling on Derry Meeting Road towards the Route 41 and Route 796 intersection when it entered the
path of a Peterbilt tractor pulling a 53’ van trailer that was travelling Northbound on Route 41.  The tractor trailer
impacted the driver’s side of the SUV causing major damage.  The SUV came to rest perpendicular to Route 41 in the
middle of the roadway approximately 150’ from the intersection.  The tractor trailer came to rest blocking both the
Northbound and Southbound lanes of Route 41.  The tractor trailer sustained damages to the front end.  There were
fluids spilled on the roadway along with a large debris field of vehicle parts.

The fire department had to extricate the driver of the SUV from the vehicle.

Upon arrival of our equipment, Fire/Rescue and EMS were still in the process of tending to the injured patients involved
in the collision.  The Investigating Trooper requested that we stand-by while they finished marking and measuring the
accident scene.  A short time later we were given the go ahead to begin the recovery.

Null’s Recovery & Site Restoration along with help from the Cochranville Fire Company, worked to sweep the roadway
and collect the vehicle parts, fluids, and debris from the roadway.

The front end of the SUV was winched parallel with the roadway, so that it could be loaded onto the rollback.  The SUV
was loaded onto the rollback and secured via a four point tie down.  The loose vehicle parts were secured.  The doors
and “B post” that had been cut off by the fire company to extricate the driver were loaded into NR&SR’s Incident
Response Unit for transport from the scene.

The heavy duty wrecker hooked to the tractor trailer. The driveline was removed, air was supplied to the tractor’s air
system. Secondary attachments were installed and the front axle secured to the axle lift. The truck and trailer were then
separated. Once separated, wireless tow lights were installed on the tractor. Our truck tractor hooked to the trailer. The
tractor and trailer were then moved from the immediate area so the clean-up could be finalized.

The SUV, Peterbilt tractor, and van trailer were all transported from the accident scene to Null’s of Cochranville. Once at
Null’s, all vehicles were placed in our secure storage yard.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE COCHRANVILLE, KEYSTONE VALLEY, CHRISTIANA,
AVONDALE, AND WEST GROVE FIRE COMPANIES FOR THEIR HELP WITH SCENE
SAFETY AND TRAFFIC CONTROL, AS ALWAYS, IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
